News on Ovarian & Prostate Health
September is National Ovary and Prostate Health Month
We all face the frightening possibility of being diagnosed with ovarian or prostate
cancer. According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), ovarian cancer is estimated to have affected nearly 22,430 women last year. The ACS estimates almost ten times as many men (approximately 218,890) were diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007. According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI), the advantages of herbal supplements and alternative medicines in the prevention of both ovarian cancer and prostate cancer continue to be widely studied. Here's a link to the National Cancer Institute's (NCI) Complementary and Alternative Medicine (CAM) comprehensive guide, "Thinking about Complementary and Alternative Medicine." (Article continues)
CDC Advises Diet and Behavior Could Lower Cancer Risk
The U.S. Government's Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) notes on their Fruits and Vegetables Benefits webpage that, "Compared with people who consume a diet with only small amounts of fruits and vegetables, those who eat more generous amounts as part of a healthful diet are likely to have reduced risk of chronic diseases, including stroke and perhaps other cardiovascular diseases, and certain cancers." NOCC Suggests Seven Complementary Therapies for Women
In addition to a healthy diet, The National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) website's Treatment section notes that, "Some women with ovarian cancer turn toward the whole-body approach of complementary therapy to enhance their fight against the disease, as well as to relieve stress and minimize side effects such as fatigue, pain and nausea." Complementary therapies are diverse practices and products that are used in conjunction with conventional medicine.

The Natural Way to Keep the Prostate and Ovaries Healthy
Gentlemen – do you have problems urinating or have to get up several times a night to urinate? These could be the symptoms of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia). Ladies – do you have problems with ovarian cysts (polycystic ovarian disease)? While the response from conventional medicine would be to treat the symptoms, natural programs support the underlying cause. Click here to read how Dr. D. Graeme Shaw's male patients show consistent improvement in their symptoms while using natural programs that support the body and address the underlying causes of BPH. And how his female patients own body's healing mechanisms were able to eliminate their cysts while on a three-month of supportive natural supplementation.* (Article continues)
Crinum Latifolium for Healthy Ovaries and Prostate*
In 2003, Dr. Robert Rowen was one of the first to discuss the beneficial effects of Crinum Latifolium for men with prostate problems. Two years later in the December issue of his Second Opinion Newsletter he again praised this amazing herbal ingredient, this time focusing on its effectiveness for several women he had treated with ovarian cysts.*
"Very few doctors would think to use this product for ovarian problems, but it can definitely help," wrote Dr. Rowen. "Ovarian cysts can be worrisome. Your doctor must evaluate larger cysts for cancer. Smaller cysts can grow. They can also be associated with dysfunctional hormones and bleeding. Your doctor will usually take a wait and see approach with smaller cysts. I'd try crinium rather than worry that a cyst might enlarge. Crinium is an excellent option for many with reproductive tract problems. It doesn't matter whether it's ovarian problems in women or prostate troubles in men. Crinium (Healthy Prostate/Ovary) is available from Get Well."
