Physical Characteristics
Desmodium Styracifolium or Guang Jing is a perennial growing to 0.75m hardy to zone 0. The Desmodium Styracifolium flowers are hermaphrodite (have both male and female organs) and are pollinated by Insects. Desmodium Styracifolium can fix Nitrogen. The plant prefers light (sandy), medium (loamy) and heavy (clay) soils and requires well-drained soil, acid, neutral and basic (alkaline) soils, cannot grow in the shade and requires moist soil.

Desmodium Styracifolium is used in the treatment of gonorrhea[147]. A decoction of the plant is used in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of gallstones, urinary tract stones and hepatitis[218].*
